It’s a very merry Internets! Mozilla Firefox, the global nonprofit
responsible for the super popular web surfin’ software, has launched a
star-studded, month-long charity challenge with Crowdrise -- and 12 of
Hollywood’s finest are in the mix.
Each celeb participant has selected a lucky nonprofit to promote on
the online fundraising platform, which was actually created by Ed Norton, one of the featured actor/activists.
Doe-eyed Zooey Deschanel reps The Innocence Project; Paul Rudd throws a bone to Rolling Dog Farm; Jonah Hill scores big for Nothing but Nets; Sophia Bush says F Cancer and Seth Rogen gives funny money to Hilarity for Charity, just to name a few.
To get this donation celebration started, Firefox forked over an
initial $5,000 donation to each worthy cause, but here’s where it gets
interesting -- the star who hauls in the most compassionate cash will
get an extra $25,000 from the big-hearted web browser!
And there are tons of giveaways for those who give -- Jason Bateman is offering a chance to win an Arrested Development set visit to anyone who raises $59 for City Year and Will Ferrell
is bestowing some of his "Sexy Hot Tan Sunscreen" plus a signed cowbell
to one donor who sends in more than $19 to Cancer for College. Daaaang,
those are killer prizes!
You have until January 11th to join and support your fav celeb’s project -- or start one of your own -- so go click and care!
